Laura is a classically trained violinist, who played in the Jacksonville Symphony, working with such renowned greats as Arthur Fiedler, Beverly Sills, and Benny Goodman. While studying violin in Switzerland, she joined an Irish band which performed at the country's major folk festivals.
Laura started her own group after she returned to the US. The 5-piece band played a combination of bluegrass, folk, and rock music; and performed at Busch Gardens Tampa, and at major clubs in the Tampa Bay area.
Hired for the band on the Nashville Network's television series, 'Strictly Bluegrass', she moved to Nashville, and was then hired to play at Opryland (a music-themed park on the grounds of the Grand Old Opry), as the fiddler in the bluegrass theater. That band, Smoky Mountain Sunshine, also toured North America representing the Grand Old Opry.
Her Opryland show was seen by a producer from Las Vegas, who hired her to join his show at the Union Plaza Hotel. The Mickey Finn Show was featured on the Merv Griffin Show, the John Davidson Show, and on the Jerry Lewis Telethon. When Finn created his next two shows, Laura was always a prominent cast member; playing multiple instruments, singing, dancing, acting, and working as an MC.
Laura later toured the western US with the New Christy Minstrels revival band, singing and playing violin; then was hired to work at Church Street Station, an entertainment complex in downtown Orlando.
Laura's now based in Naples, FL, and regularly performs at the major hotels and country clubs in the area, including: The Ritz, Tiburon, Bay Colony Beach Club, Pelican Isle Yacht Club, Naples Sailing and Yacht, The Vineyards, Country Club of Naples, Royal Poinciana, the Marco Island Yacht Club, Mediterra, Wilderness, Naples Yacht Club, Crown Colony, Imperial Golf Club, Forest Glen, Pelican Marsh, and The Island Club (Marco Island). She also plays for seniors at Moorings Park, Terracina Grand, Bradford Square, Arbor Glen, and The Arlington.
She works with several local bands covering all genres of music, from jazz to country; and plays strolling violin, going table to table playing requests - and is known as a human jukebox. She loves to play whatever challenging songs anyone dreams up!
Laura brings lovely music and a smile wherever she plays, and her extensive repertoire means she's able to provide whatever music you are looking for when you plan your next special event.
